Riccardo is a journalist and writes for "La Repubblica" He was also the founder and the director of three Italian magazines: "Campus", "Il Romanista" and the Italian edition of "Wired" . He did a lot of seemingly unrelated things: he wrote about Calciopoli scandal, promoted the nomination of Internet for the Nobel Prize for Peace, and is the President of Wikitalia, an association that is responsible for transparency and political participation across the web. He has collaborated with Expo2015 and with the Italian Ministry of Education.

On the web has several ongoing projects: a blog on "Il Post", the direction of the website "CheFuturo! Il lunario dell''innovazione", the coordination of italia2013.me and is the leader of StartupItalia !.
He edited and conducted international conferences such as: Happy Birthday Web, Makers and iSchool and Next of La Repubblica delle Idee and was co-director of the European Maker Faire that was held in Rome in 2013.
